Statement by Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan regarding Vision Vancouver Councillor Tim Stevenson

Mayor Sam Sullivan issued the following statement today:

“I am disappointed to learn today of Vision Vancouver Councillor Tim Stevenson pleading guilty to drinking and driving.

Drinking and driving has serious ramifications to countless families and communities across the country. It is an issue that must be taken very seriously.

I trust that Councillor Stevenson has sought the appropriate counselling and that he will work hard within our community against drinking and driving.

With regard to his continued service on City Council, this will be a decision between Councillor Stevenson and the voters.

My focus is getting on with the job of running the city, improving the environment, expanding our economy, delivering on our Project Civil City objectives and making Vancouver the most inclusive and accessible city in Canada.”
