Congratulations to Premier Christy Clark and the BC Liberals for a tremendous victory. I will be honoured to serve in a BC Liberal government and represent the residents of Vancouver-False Creek.
I was proud to run alongside Premier Christy Clark and her BC Liberal team. Christy was a model of hard work during the campaign, giving up time in her own riding to campaign in ridings for her candidates across the Province.
I wanted to run this campaign based on ideas and issues. I wanted to share my thoughts with constituents on important matters like the economy, education, the environment, and health. I wanted to give the residents of Vancouver-False Creek a clear understanding of who they were voting for and I wanted an opportunity to make our neighbourhood a wonderful place to live.
Voters responded to that message. I am grateful and humbled that voters have put their trust in me and elected me their MLA.
Throughout the campaign I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people who shared their thoughts and ideas about the issues that concern them. I have learned a great deal.
I want to acknowledge the other candidates for the time and effort they put into their campaigns. I particularly want to thank Matt Toner, not only for his good campaign, but for raising my awareness of the economic contribution of his industry.
Thank you so very much to my campaign team who have worked tremendously hard over the past six months. I am grateful to the many friends and supporters that attended events, made phone calls, organized functions and provided encouragement. I am particularly thankful to my campaign co-chairs Cristian Worthington and Sandra Giffin for their hard work and dedication.I am looking forward to working with all of my constituents to make Vancouver-False Creek a wonderful place to live.
I will do everything I can to represent this riding well.
