Sam visited Grade 5 students in Ms. McCleary’s class to speak about the election process. The class is studying government and is visiting Victoria in April.
Sam’s visit was part of Student Vote 2013 an initiative to teach students about the election process. Students will be given the chance to vote in a parallel student run election on Monday, May 13. An “official” polling station will be set up in a classroom and students will be given a ballot with 4 choices so they can cast a vote and let their voices be heard. Results will be tabulated and sent in to be shared via media on the evening of the official election on May 14th.
