19 City-owned and City-optioned Sites Reserved for Social Housing

Beginning in 1981, the City began to purchase and hold land specifically for lease to non-profit projects. Since 1988, the City has also required private developers to set aside a percentage of their units for non-market housing. Currently, the City has 19 sites earmarked for social housing.
